Through my dedicated years of practice, I have had the opportunity to work with children, youth, and families impacted by various forms of violence. I am a certified Domestic Violence Advocate issued from Radiant Futures, Certified Crisis Counselor issued from the Crisis Text Line, and certified Sexual Health Educator issued from the California Department of Public Health.
My experience encompasses providing services within various settings including school-based settings, community mental health, clinic locations, emergency shelters, and juvenile justice centers providing both in-person and telehealth services. I have developed skills in individual, group, and family counseling as well as non-violent crisis intervention, case management, consultation, community outreach, and harm reduction practices.
A Bit About Me
I strive to integrate and honor the wisdom and inherited medicine my clients bring to move toward embodied wellness. My intention is to hold space to help you reclaim your narrative, realign with your authentic self, and orient towards what is possible - to return home to healing and hope.
My experiences in various roles allow me to find inspiration and purpose when working with diverse communities. It's when we address the roots of violence and oppression from a sociopolitical, historical, and cultural context do we then truly gain a holistic understanding of the impacts life experience on our mental health and relational functioning. Bottomline, my work is rooted in critical hope. And my goal is to constantly maintain a trauma-responsive and culturally grounded practice to ultimately restore our sense of wholeness.
My approach integrates authenticity, patience, and compassion to create a nurturing, down-to-earth environment that tends to the pain and is accountable to change. Tending to our wounds is painful and takes courage -- and we do not have to carry the pain alone.
